The windshield view has been blurry these past weeks, thanks to Covid-19 and to the wildfire smoke in California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia.
But we've been enjoying #travelmemories, while working on two new books. The first project is Rumble Strip World: Voices from the Road. Update! This is a title change. Thanks so much to those of you who have already done interviews with Gail for this book. Publication date is set for November 24, 2020. We are into cover design mode right now, and collecting photographs of vehicles. If you are one of those whose memorable road trip story will be included, and you'd like to see the vehicle you used featured on our cover, please email us at admin@windwordgroup.com The second project is Rumble Strip: Legendary Road Trips If you have written a story for this collection and sent it in, thank you! We recently took to the highway through the U.S. South and I couldn’t help but notice that the roadside reading market seemed a bit slow. A lot of signs were shouting RENT ME. Not all of them, though. There were still lots to look at, from the Bible-verses signs alongside the adult superstore signs to the attorney customer-seeking signs to the vasectomy customer-seeking signs. My favorite, this trip, was the one calling an answer to the traveler looking for a road snack.  |
